Welcome to TICE Fashion

The fashion industry has a huge impact on our world today. Being one of the world biggest industries, it comes as no surprise that British fashion is an important contributor to our country’s success; it is also an art form. It contributes to our cultural wellbeing as well as our economic lives. British fashion is iconic, capable of capturing the mood and uniting whole generations. It allows freedom of expression and encourages experimentation.

TICE Fashion is about exploring the vast and varied world of this incredibly exciting industry. With the fashion workshops students get to investigate areas such as trend prediction, design of course, we also look at fashion production skills such as sewing, pattern cutting and looking a little into embellishment and craftmanship. But what we also do is explore many growing areas of the fashion industry such as content creation and fashion communication. We look at areas such as consumer trends, looking at fashion marketing, fashion film, journalism, styling, photography, fashion technology in retail as well as materials and fashion processes. We discuss incredibly important topics such as sustainability, equality and diversity. The list goes on!

My wonderful TICE experience has certainly made me consider a career in the creative sector of fashion. From the insight stage, to the explore stage to the create stage, they have all provided information about different jobs in this area which I didn’t know existed or were possible for me to do. Without this experience I would definitely not know anything about fashion careers and would not be considering them. So thank you TICE!

TICE has definitely helped me with my TICE has definitely made me more aware of what career paths I could possibly go down and how many there are simply within fashion. It has also given me a lot of confidence and motivation to continue doing things like this in the future. TICE has taught me to be hard working but most importantly enjoy every second of it as well.
