The animation industry is incredibly broad and encompasses so many different creative skills. As an animator or someone who works in the animation industry, you might have a very technical role, or you might have a more craft-based skill set perhaps doing something like model making or prop building. As the variety of platforms and channels for entertainment increases so does the drive for content which is animated. Animation is used for all different kinds of things from games to adverts to huge blockbuster films and as technology advances, there are new avenues opened for animators, for example, virtual reality entertainment.

TICE animation looks at all these different aspects of the animation industry. Exploring areas such as character design, storyboarding, sampling computer software to create animated content such as short film, animated gifs, moving image for video games, motion graphics and special effects and much more. It will look in-depth at how and why animation can be used to tell a story or send a message.
