Interviewing People

The project is about exploring identity and personality through vintage fashion. Loved and cherished vintage clothing tells a story; you might own something that’s been handed down through generations, you might own an item of clothing that was made during a historical era or time, or you might even love something purely for its look and details. Whatever the reason may be, it’s important to share these stories and change our perceptions about how and why we buy clothes. The era of throwaway clothing is dying out, and the era of loved and appreciated clothing is in.

With a swift shift towards the need for a sustainable future, the exploration of vintage is more crucial than ever. Combining that with the ever-growing world of video production, exploring the topic of vintage through film is one of the best ways to tell a story and elicit consumer emotion through honest storytelling.

Project Outcome

The students were asked to explore self-reflective practices as well as interview techniques, video production and video editing, storytelling and honest marketing. This resulting in a mood board that explored their personal identity and a video that depicts someone's own identity and the story around a favourite vintage item or style.

A massive well done to Morgan Lowe from Boldon School, Macy Matthews and Ella Rippington from Longbenton High School and Lois Lockwood, Marnie Boden and Elijah Humphreys from Marden High School.
