TICE Primary Workshops

WHO is TICE?

About us

All our primary school workshops are suitable for any Key Stage, and we can work to meet the abilities of the children within your school, including those with any special needs.

We deliver our workshops throughout the north east, tailoring them to fit any theme or the individual requirements of your school.

Each workshop is planned and facilitated by our experienced professional mentors who bring with them a wealth of current creative, design and digital expertise. Their knowledge and professionalism will be evident throughout each stage of your workshop, from briefing to delivery.

We had a really exciting experience which transformed the learning in Year 5 into an immersive experience that hit all the senses: - from food tasting to music, to drama and storytelling, from DT to art. The activities were so well prepared and the delivery by the facilitators was exceptional. Most importantly of all, it brought fun and creativity to learning!

How to decide which workshop will work best for your school

From your first point of contact with us, right through to the delivery of your workshop and beyond, we’re here to offer you both guidance and advice. Feel free to discuss your needs with us, from the topics you’d like us to cover to the creative disciplines you’d like your children to experience. We’ll work with you to tailor your workshop to meet your precise needs, and – with a long list of the workshops we’ve already provided for other schools, we’re here to give you lots of creative ideas and inspiration.
Please let us know if you’re seeking to meet any specific benchmarks as we can work with you to ensure this is a part of our provision.

What creative disciplines and topics are on offer?

Our mentors can facilitate workshops around any topic or topics, for example, the Victorians, India, biodiversity, horticulture, materials and their properties, and more. Simply let us know what topic you’d like us to introduce or enhance within your school. You can then choose what creative disciplines you would like us to use to present the workshop, for example, we can work through the media of music, textiles, creative writing, illustration, photography, animation, software or a combination of the above. We’ll deliver your workshop with a clear focus on your chosen topic with an additional emphasis on creative, digital and design careers – enhancing both the careers and creative provision within your school.

Having TICE in to do the Horticulture and biodiversity workshop with year 2 has been amazing. Bringing a topic of ‘plants’ to the children through the media of music and art was so worthwhile and the rich learning that occurred in the lessons was fantastic. The lessons were perfectly pitched, fast-paced and engaging for all pupils...and staff. The national curriculum links to science were evident but it was done in a fun, interactive, inclusive and memorable way.
